- -College diploma (DEC) in a related field and/or equivalent relevant experience
-Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar position
-Construction site experience
-Ability to read and interpret specifications
-Knowledge of Word and Excel
-Knowledge of electrical code requirements and equipment in his/her specialty (electrical, instrumentation and control).
-Knowledge of estimating software (Accubid, an asset)
-Demonstrate rigor and autonomy
-Attention to detail and accuracy
-Good analytical skills
-Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
-Good organizational and planning skills
- Job Summary:
- One of our customers, a leader in the Quebec construction industry, is looking for an Electrical Estimator.
Reporting to the Division Manager, the Electrical Estimator is responsible for estimating bids that meet customer requirements, while ensuring our ability to complete the requested work within budget. The incumbent works jointly and as part of a team with other members of the division to participate in the completion of electrical projects.
Your detailed tasks will include
-Analyze specifications and tender documents;
-Carry out quantity surveys and labour costing;
-Verify bid feasibility based on technical resources;
-Manage unresolved issues and unfair clauses;
-Work with the buyer to find alternatives and equivalents to present to the customer;
-Prepare data for project scheduling;
-Validate quantities to be installed;
-Participate in bid closings;
-Contribute to the continuous improvement of methods and processes;
-Perform all other related tasks.
